Outdoor Fun at Merriweather District’s Ice Rink

The new Color Burst Ice Rink at Merriweather District is open for the 2020 “ 2021 season. It is a safe and enjoyable outdoor place for date nights and family outings. Themed celebrations, music and food trucks are featured. The drive-through Symphony of Lights at Merriweather Post Pavilion is right next door for pre- or post-skating viewing. Location: Color Burst Ice Rink is located at Color Burst Park in Merriweather District, Downtown Columbia. It is a 6,000 square-foot rink. Color Burst Ice Rink will operate at reduced capacity, in compliance with recommendations for outdoor activities from the State of Maryland and Howard County.

Hours: You will have a 75-minute skate period beginning when you enter the rink

  • Monday “ Thursday 4 “ 9PM
  • Friday 4 “ 10PM
  • Saturday Noon “ 10PM
  • Sunday Noon “ 8PM

Tickets: Tickets are required and guests are strongly encouraged to purchase in advance of your visit.

  • Adults $14
  • Kids $14

Every Tuesday: Reduced ticket price of $12 for kids and adults

Price includes admission and skate rental. Walk-up admission is permitted; however, you will need to scan a QR Code onsite to find the next available skate.

Safety First For the safety and convenience of all guests, a limited number of visitors will be admitted to the ice rink every 30-minutes. All visits must be reserved in advance by purchasing a timed ticket(s) online. All visitors will receive a confirmation email with a safety waiver and a receipt. Entry is not guaranteed to those who walk up to purchase tickets.

Those who attempt the “walk-up” purchase of tickets in-person, will be shown a QR-code to purchase tickets on their smartphones; if the present time is fully-booked, the guest will be shown other available times to skate.
